1. Customer Information

The customer initially reached out through our company's website with a straightforward inquiry. They requested an electric hoist capable of handling 25 tons, with a lifting height of 60 meters, and operating on a 480 VAC power supply. Our client is a leading service provider in the Philippines specializing in industries such as geothermal energy, oil, and gas. Their scope of work includes drilling, specialized steel fabrication, power plant services, machining and CNC operations, and engineering design. With extensive experience in geothermal development and power generation, the company requires high-performance equipment to support their projects. They needed a hoisting solution that was reliable, precise, and able to meet their demanding lifting requirements while operating in power plant environments.

2. Communication and solution design

At first, the inquiry was submitted through our electric chain hoist page, so our team designed a solution based on a conventional traveling electric chain hoist. However, without knowing the exact operating conditions, this was only a preliminary proposal. The customer later reviewed the design and shared site drawings, which allowed us to gain a clearer picture of the application. After further communication, we learned that the hoist would be used during maintenance of the client's gas generators. Specifically, the hoist was required to lift the intake bulkhead of the generator, which weighs about 18 tons. The equipment would not be used frequently, but it needed to perform safely and reliably whenever required. Based on this information, we optimized the solution and provided two customized 40-ton, 70-meter electric wire rope hoists to ensure performance, safety, and flexibility for the customer's long-term needs.

Negotiate Lifting Plan

After many conversations with our customer, we determined that a lifting height of 70 meters would be more suitable for the conditions of use. The type of chain hoist is also changed from travelling type to fixed type, and the quantity is changed to 2 sets. At the same time, two quotations of 25t and 30t are provided for customers to choose. When the customer's technical team reviewed the plan, it was found that the diameter of the inner ring of the hook should be at least 130mm for the lifting hole on the intake bulkhead, and the standard 30t electric chain hoist hook did not meet the requirements. So, we decided to replace the hook head with a 50t one to meet the demand. The customer confirmed that he wanted two 30t electric chain hoists.

Following thorough evaluations, the client finalized the requirement for two 40-ton electric wire rope hoists with a lifting height of 70 meters. We revised the solution again to match customer needs. Our hoists were manufactured adhering to ISO standards, underwent rigorous quality checks, and were delivered to the client's facility in Manila via bulk carrier, ensuring timely and safe arrival. However, for the next month, no matter how much we contacted the client, he had no news or feedback. We waited patiently for the customer's response and after another week, the customer indicated that they would like us to change the chain hoist to a wire rope hoist. So our engineers quickly designed another motorized wire rope solution. The client received the program and contacted us again two weeks later to say that the program was perfect for them to use.

Applications of Wire Rope Hoists

Wire rope hoists are used across many industries because they combine high lifting capacity with smooth, controlled movement. When you need to lift heavy loads safely and position them accurately, this type of hoist offers a reliable solution. You can install it on overhead cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, or monorail systems, depending on your workspace and workflow.

1. Manufacturing and Assembly

In manufacturing plants and assembly lines, wire rope hoists handle heavy and high-value components every day. You can use them to lift motors, steel structures, molds, and large machine parts without sudden movements. The smooth lifting and precise control help you align components accurately during assembly, which reduces rework and damage. By limiting manual lifting, you also improve worker safety and reduce fatigue. This creates a more stable production flow and helps you maintain consistent output over long shifts.

2. Warehouses and Distribution Centers

In warehouses and distribution centers, wire rope hoists support efficient material handling in areas with high storage density. When installed on overhead cranes or monorail tracks, they allow you to move pallets, containers, and oversized goods across long distances. You can take advantage of vertical space instead of relying only on floor-level transport.

3. Construction and Building Materials Handling

On construction sites and in building material yards, wire rope hoists are trusted for their strength and durability. You can lift concrete panels, steel beams, formwork, and other heavy materials repeatedly without compromising performance. Their robust design supports frequent lifting cycles, even in dusty or outdoor conditions. This helps you keep projects on schedule and reduces the risks linked to manual lifting. For demanding construction work, a wire rope hoist provides both reliability and confidence.

4. Power Plants and Heavy Industry

In power plants, steel mills, and cement facilities, wire rope hoists are essential tools for maintenance and equipment handling. You can use them to lift turbines, pumps, gear assemblies, and other large mechanical units during installation or repair. Their high load capacity and stable operation suit long-term, high-duty applications. By enabling safe and controlled lifting, they help you shorten maintenance time and reduce unexpected downtime. This directly supports plant safety and continuous operation.

5. Workshops and Maintenance Areas

In workshops and maintenance areas, wire rope hoists make daily service tasks easier and safer. You can lift engines, gearboxes, and heavy tools with minimal effort and high precision. One operator can often manage tasks that would otherwise need several people. This improves productivity and reduces the physical strain on your team. For repair shops and service bays, the hoist becomes a practical tool that supports both speed and worker protection.
