Discover the perfect 6-ton NR wire rope hoist for your injection molding needs in Poland. Reliable, efficient, and built to tackle your toughest lifting tasks!

An injection-molding customer in Poland needed a robust, precise lifting solution for parts used in household appliances and automobiles. We supplied a 6-ton NR wire-rope hoist engineered to meet those demands. The hoist offers two selectable lift speeds — 5 m/min for quick transfers and 0.8 m/min for fine positioning — plus a wider variable range of 2–20 m/min for flexible operation across different tasks. The M5-rated design ensures the hoist handles heavy, frequent cycles with long service life and low downtime. Precise positioning comes from the hoist's controlled speed stages and smooth start/stop behavior, which reduce sway and improve placement repeatability. Together, these features cut cycle time, protect molded parts from damage, and give the customer a durable, high-accuracy lifting solution suited to demanding production lines.

What the Injection Molding Customer Needed

The client required a hoist that could handle big machine components and huge molds in a safe, accurate, and repeatable manner. They needed to start and stop smoothly, have a dependable 6-ton capacity, and traverse quickly for general positioning and slowly for final installation. To save delicate tooling, controls have to permit inching and soft motion. Additionally, the device required easy maintenance, straightforward interaction with current cranes, trolleys, or automation systems, and strong safety features (overload prevention, mechanical and electrical limits, emergency stop). Their plant layout included corrosion-resistant finishes, low headroom, and compact geometry as extras. In general, they were looking for a sturdy hoist that shortened cycle time while lowering the possibility of expensive mold damage and repair downtime.

Production Context and Lifting Tasks

The plant moves heavy, awkward molds from storage to presses and then shifts finished parts and tooling for secondary operations. Operators use the hoist to load and unload presses and to place molds into robotic or automation cells. They also perform periodic maintenance lifts of pumps, heaters, and machine sections. Because molds are fragile and precisely machined, the hoist must offer very smooth acceleration and deceleration, anti-sway behavior, and an adjustable low speed for final alignment. Tasks often require off-center lifts, spreader beams, or fixture rotation, so the rigging must be flexible and the hoist must tolerate side-pulls and eccentric loads.

Our Lifting Solution

We supplied an NR wire rope hoist based on the customer's requirements. This crane is perfect for and industry where space is compact and precision control is in high demand. We sized equipment to handle the largest molds while keeping headroom low and the hook-to-rail dimension compact. We selected controls that give both very slow fine positioning and faster travel for transfers.

1. Why We Provided Wire Rope Hoist?

After communication, we chose to offer wire rope hoists. This is due to the fact that wire rope hoists are generally able to withstand higher loads and more frequent lifting tasks than chain hoists and are more resistant to wear and tear. In this wire rope hoist configuration we offer, the layout of the drum and motor can provide lower or tighter headroom, which aids in maneuvering within the press area. We offer wire rope hoists with a choice of two speeds, 0.8m/min for the low speed condition and 5m/min for finer position control and efficient transportation. In addition, the electrical components of the hoist have a number of safety devices built in, such as brakes, overload protection and limit switches.

2. Why the Hoist is Right Choice for this Polish Customer

Six tons matches the customer's largest mold weights plus the extra mass of fixtures and lifting gear, so lifts stay inside safe working limits without over-specifying equipment. Choosing M5 duty class aligns the hoist to a multi-shift production environment with frequent starts and long service life. That duty rating guides the sizing of motor, gearbox, braking and thermal capacity so the system won't be overstressed during normal use. It also makes maintenance and inspection intervals predictable and simplifies warranty and spare-parts planning. In short, 6 t with M5 gives the customer the capacity, durability, and serviceability they need for reliable daily production.

Crane Design We Provided

The 6-ton NR wire rope hoist is robust and versatile. It works well on single-girder electric trolleys when headroom is tight. It also pairs cleanly with double-girder bridges for long spans and high-precision placement. For low roofs or portable needs, under-hung bridges or gantries are a good fit. With every option we deliver the hoist plus a clear, tested integration plan. That plan includes CAD drawings, mounting templates, weight and center-of-gravity data, and factory test reports.

1. Hoist mounting and headroom considerations for the 6-ton NR wire rope hoist

Headroom and hook approach determine the usable lift, so get them right up front. We deliver the NR hoist's exact headroom, hook block dimensions, reeving layout, and the minimum hook-to-beam clearances you must meet to preserve the full 8 m lift. Crane designers should check trolley flange widths, wheelbase, and beam camber so the hoist's hook-to-floor and hook-to-end-stop clearances stay within spec under load and at maximum deflection. Also factor in maintenance access, clearance for the hook at the runway ends, and the additional space needed when the hoist uses block reeving or multiple falls.

2. Electrical and controls integration for the 6-ton NR wire rope hoist

We make electrical hookup fast and predictable by supplying a VFD-ready hoist motor, complete wiring diagrams, and recommended control panels. The VFD supports the 2–20 m/min hoist speed range and we preset convenient speeds on the pendant. We also provide options for radio remote control, PLC integration for automated cycles, and clear lists: start/stop, up/down, speed select, emergency stop, limit-switch inputs, load cell or load-moment analog output, brake status, encoder/position feedback, thermal alarms, and fault outputs. These details reduce engineering time on site and cut the electrical integration cycle for both you and your crane installer.

The Parts of 6 Ton Wire Rope Hoist

We offer wire rope hoists with the following main components:

1. Mechanical Parts: Drum, Rope, Gearbox

The drum and rope are sized to maximize rope life and handle repeated start/stop cycles common in molding cells. We use a multi-strand, fatigue-resistant steel rope with optimized groove geometry on the drum to prevent overlap and uneven wear. Drum grooves and winding diameter follow accepted bending ratios to reduce wire fatigue. Replacement ropes and spare drums are standard items and fit the hoist without special machining. The gearbox uses helical or planetary gearing selected with a service factor for M5 duty. Gears are hardened and ground to reduce noise and extend life. The gearbox runs in an oil bath with labyrinth seals and inspection ports. Bearings are oversized for thermal load and to tolerate frequent reversals. Together these choices reduce heat build-up, limit maintenance frequency, and keep hoist motion smooth and predictable.

2. Motor and Braking System

The motor is selected for M5 duty and built to work with a VFD for smooth, controllable torque down to low speeds (0.8 m/min). You can choose a robust, IEC-frame induction motor or a high-efficiency PM motor depending on the application. The brake system is redundant and fail-safe. A spring-applied, electrically released service brake handles normal holding and dynamic loads. A separate mechanical emergency brake holds the load if power or the service brake fails. Brakes include wear indicators and a manual release for safe lowered retrieval during maintenance. Brake torque is sized with margin above required holding torque and tested to meet relevant EN/ISO stopping and holding requirements for production hoists.

3. Controls, Safety Devices, and Instrumentation

Control comes from a user-friendly pendant with a two-position speed switch plus analog VFD control for full-range speed tuning and soft start/stop. The hoist includes essential safety devices: upper and lower limit switches, slack-rope detection, overload cutout, and an emergency-stop circuit. These devices reduce the risk of dropped loads and protect expensive molds. Optional instrumentation improves process control. An inline load cell and digital readout give immediate load feedback and recordable data for traceability. A hook-position encoder provides repeatable placements for automated mold handling.
