A precast concrete manufacturing yard in the United States needed a powerful outdoor lifting solution to handle 18 – 20 ton concrete wall panels and beams. Yuantai supplied a 20 ton single girder gantry crane with wireless remote control for this client's new yard extension. The crane operates outdoors on ground rails, moving heavy panels from molding beds to curing racks and loading areas.
20 Ton Gantry Crane Product – Customer's Crane Need
The customer fabricates large precast concrete elements weighing up to 20 ton each. Their process requires lifting panels immediately after demolding, transferring them to curing racks, rotating some panels on edge for steam curing, and finally loading them onto transport trailers for delivery to construction sites. To maintain a cycle time of one panel every two hours, the yard needed a crane capable of:
- Lifting 20 ton panels along an 8m span
- Traveling 30 m along ground rails covering molding beds, storage, and loading zones
- Offering precise positioning to within ±25 mm for safe rack placement and trailer alignment
- Operating reliably in outdoor conditions—rain, wind, temperature swings—without frequent maintenance
- Allowing a single operator to control lift, travel, and travel direction via wireless remote
Prior to this installation, panel transfers depended on rented mobile cranes and forklifts. These methods led to unpredictable availability, high rental costs, and safety concerns when working around stacked panels.

1. The Main Girder Structure
The crane uses high quality steel to manufacture the main beam of the crane, which has high quality bending rigidity and can carry 20 tons of heavy loads. 2. Heavy-Duty End Trucks and Rails

In addition, buffers are installed on each end beam to absorb impact energy and protect the crane and the track.
3. High-Capacity Hoist and Trolley
The crane's central hoist trolley carries a 20 ton electric wire-rope hoist equipped with a dual-speed motor. You can move the load quickly at 5 m/min when unloaded, or slow down to 0.5 m/min for precise positioning. A 28 mm, 36-strand wire rope wraps evenly on a multi-groove drum to prevent wear, while a spring-applied disc brake and overload protection at 105% of rated capacity keep operations safe.
4. Wireless Remote Control System
Yuantai integrated a wireless pendant control system with emergency-stop function. Operators can command hoist up/down, bridge travel, and travel direction from anywhere within the yard. This remote control setup boosts safety by allowing clear line-of-sight operations and reduces the need for tethered pendant cables.
5. Outdoor Durability Features
This crane is built for reliable outdoor use in tough environments. All electrical enclosures are rated IP65 to block dust and water. Motors and drives use marine-grade coatings to resist corrosion in humid and coastal conditions. The bridge and hoist are equipped with wind-proof devices, including guide rollers and clamp-down mechanisms, to prevent movement or misalignment in strong winds. UV-resistant paint protects the steel structure from long-term sun damage and fading. These features work together to extend service life, reduce breakdown risk, and lower maintenance needs.
6. Compliance with Standards
The crane meets CMAA Class C standards for light to moderate outdoor service and fully complies with OSHA 1910.179 regulations for overhead and gantry cranes.
